Positions available:

RN Full Time Nights – Kanas Center for Hospice Care

East End Hospice is currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide high-quality hospice nursing services to patients and their families in its inpatient unit, The Kanas Center for Hospice Care.

Responsibilities of a Hospice RN:

  • Teach, supervise, and counsel the patient and family regarding care and other problems related to thepatient’ss illness.
  • Provide anticipatory guidance to patients/families to help them prepare for and cope with events as they occur throughout the disease process.
  • Conduct comprehensive, individualized patient assessments.
  • Contribute as a member of the East End Hospice interdisciplinary team to identify the patient/family needs and to establish the plan of care.
  • Implement the nursing portion of the plan of care in coordination with the other members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Share in the ongoing evaluation of the plan of care and coordinate revisions as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to relate well to terminally ill patients and their families.
  • Ability to assess patient/family needs and to be sensitive to those needs.
  • Willingness to function as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Be familiar with the hospice concept and related nursing issues.

Requirements:

  • A registered professional nurse from an accredited nursing program. Currently licensed to practice nursing in New York State.
  • 2+ years of RN experience required (Hospice, Med-Surg, Homecare)
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records is a plus

Schedule:

  • 7 pm to 7 am
  • Weekends will be required on a rotating basis

Valid New York State driver’s license and proof of current car insurance required for all positions. East End Hospice offers a competitive salary and benefits, as well as a supportive working environment.
