Blog EEH COVID-19 Update

Dear Friends:

East End Hospice has always been on the front line of community medicine. We are experts in delivering care, comfort and compassion to people in the safety of their homes. During the unfolding COVID-19 pandemic our commitment remains unchanged. Our team will ensure that patients and families receive expert care and – most importantly – peace of mind. We continue to deploy staff, equipment and medications to patients across Eastern Long Island. Our nurses, social workers, home health aides and volunteers continue to provide medical care, education and emotional support. We are working with healthcare partners to discharge those patients eligible for hospice care to their homes in order relieve the burden on community hospitals and emergency personnel.

In times like these, I am reminded of what a true honor it is to lead a team of selfless, dedicated people whose immediate impulse is to ask, “How can we help?” Many of you have also reached out to offer support. Please read on for specific information about our operations.

The important role East End Hospice plays in our community’s healthcare system is more apparent than ever. Our patients are among those most vulnerable to infection. However, our commitment to their care is steadfast.

Thank you for all you do to support terminally ill patients across the East End today and always.

Sincerely,
Mary C. Crosby, RN, MPH
